Admissions Process

At Avis Global Education, we strive to make your admission journey smooth, transparent and efficient. Follow the steps below to begin your studies in Mauritius.

Step 1: Submit Your Application

Prospective students should submit the following documents for assessment:

  • Completed Course Application Form
  • Scanned copy of passport (bio-data page)
  • Scanned copies of academic certificates and transcripts
  • Any other supporting documents required for the selected programme

Applications will be assessed based on the entry requirements of the respective qualification.

Step 2: Receive Your Offer Letter

Applicants who meet the entry requirements will receive an Offer Letter from Avis Global Education.

To accept the offer, students must:

  • Sign and return the Letter of Acceptance.
  • Complete any additional enrolment requirements communicated by the Admissions Office.

Following confirmation of enrolment, Avis Global Education will register the student on the National Electronic Licensing System (NELS) and provide the unique Student Enrolment Key required for the Student Entry/Residence Permit application.

Step 3: Apply for Your Student Entry/Residence Permit

Using your Enrolment Key, submit your application through the NELS portal together with the following documents:

  • Valid passport (bio-data page)
  • Recent passport-size digital photograph
  • Offer Letter
  • Signed Letter of Acceptance
  • Proof of financial capacity (minimum equivalent of MUR 150,000)
  • Sponsorship Letter (where applicable)
  • Proof of accommodation in Mauritius
  • Medical reports (issued within the last six months) as prescribed by the Passport and Immigration Office.

Step 4: Visa Processing

Upon receipt of a complete application, the Passport and Immigration Office generally processes Student Entry/Residence Permit applications within two weeks. The outcome shall be communicated to the student.

Step 5: Travel to Mauritius

Once your Entry Permit has been approved:

  • Travel to Mauritius before the commencement of your programme.
  • Inform Avis Global Education of your flight details at least one week before arrival to facilitate airport assistance, if required.
  • Carry all original documents when travelling.

Step 6: Complete Arrival Formalities

Within 14 days of arrival, students must:

  • Complete the required medical examinations at approved medical facilities in Mauritius.
  • Upload the medical reports to the NELS platform.
  • Attend the scheduled appointment at the Passport and Immigration Office for verification of original documents.

Step 7: Collection of Residence Permit

Upon successful verification of your original documents and completion of all immigration formalities, the Passport and Immigration Office will issue your Student Residence Permit, allowing you to legally reside and study in Mauritius for the approved duration of your programme.

Important Information

  • Students must maintain a valid Student Residence Permit throughout their studies.
  • Eligible international students enrolled in registered institutions may work up to 20 hours per week, subject to the laws and regulations of Mauritius.
  • Any change in passport details, personal information or accommodation must be reported to the Passport and Immigration Office.
